There is a new show coming up... Jim Carrey's "Yes Man"... talks about not saying "No" to anything in your life... live up to possibilities and realise your dreams... not sure about the actual storyline.. but the trailer said it this way...
Previously, I was also introduced on "Secret"... telling us to create positive thoughts to the universe and hence, pulling in the things that we want and dreamed of... until the very recent one, I bought a chinese book.. translated from a popular german book - how to place your orders to the universe to ask for things that you want...
Somehow... I am really confused... how is it that you will know that the things which you crave for.. ask for... are the best for you? What will happen in the event that the things that you wished for came true.. only to be a nightmare to you later on?
Questions and doubts... which are not supposed to be there if you want to ask for your wishlist... I don't know.. maybe someone out there can provide some important clues.... :)

Singapore Silver Medal in Olympics after 48yrs
Just watched the final match of Singapore against China - the confirmation of the Silver Medal award which Singapore is securing with no doubts.
It was really an exciting match between Li J W (Spore aka World no.6) and Zhang Y N (China aka World no.1). China player Zhang YN displayed such extra-ordinary skills and speed in the table tennis. It was an obvious match that China is winning for sure. Nevertheless, Spore team performed at her best - it was commendable.
Although deep down in the heart, we all know that our very own Spore team came from China. However, the excitement of seeing S'pore flag in the Olympics finals tickles very much and we have to thank overseas China sports talents who came over here to Spore. They have shown us the difference - the possibility to make things happen.
Feel . Inspire . Think . Possibilities - Live life once without regrets.
Don't be blinded by what the society has acted out in front of you.
Do remember to follow your heart - Feel. Cos at the end of life itself, you will nvr get a 2nd chance to do the things you should have done in this lifetime.
Cheers for the S'pore Table Tennis Team - Olympics 2008!

New Appreciation of Life
Recently I changed to a new job and a total new environment..
Yeah... the world did seem to suddenly explode with a whole new angle/ perspective.
I am dealing more with old folks with various degree of hearing loss in this new job.
Having seen and talked to a number of old folks and their families, I have really seen the other side of the world... the reality.
When human beings grow old, there are alot of problems associated with the eyesight, with the hearing, with physical movement, with understanding and reacting to other people.
I have met old folks enjoying life - travelling to exotic places, taking air balloon at the age of 70+ despite having hearing and sight problems!
I have also met an old folk fighting for recovery from surgery in the hospital...
Life is simply hard to comprehend as all individuals encounter different things in life.
There is one thing I realise.. those old folks who are rich, simply can afford to spend just to keep their lives comfortable. Those who are not rich, will live day by day just trying to maintain their health expenses till their last breath.
This, however, shows one universal rule:
No matter how rich or poor you are - Life after struggling through the youth days, mostly, is left to fight old age problems/diseases at the end of it. The big difference is that our degree of problems varies and the fortunate ones are those with very minor old age problems!
Come on... let's face it - Some of these old folks who are great people of their times, but when they are down with senile old age problems - it doesn't matter how great they are in the past, they still need you to take care of their very basic daily needs now. This maybe what will be happening to many of us in the future when we grow old...
Does it sound controversial to you on the meaning of life now?
What can you do?
Well, simply treat your parents, spouse, kids, families and best friends as nice as you can - because when we grow old, these are the only people who will stand by your side to take care of you. Never your boss, your work, your colleagues and definitely not your company!
Learn to appreciate life more when you are still at your prime time.
Because all of us are young once only.
Although I have encountered culture shock initially, despite having doubts on myself... etc.. I start to realise that I have now start to appreciate life on a new horizon...

Compassion
Great Verse:
"It is by having compassion and the thought of universal responsibility that one finds the happiness of life, the real joy of life, the real meaning of life: one feels real peace and happiness in one's heart." - Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Admist all the confusion about life worthiness... most people forgot the real meaning of our short life (80 yrs? 100yrs?).. that can really happens only when our hearts are compassionate abt humans and living beings ard us. If one is indulged in only seeing their own enjoyments and "happiness" (money, holidays, greed, laziness, etc)... sooner or later, they will only tend to dig deeper holes for themselves, going into more "emptiness" and "sufferings" before they start to ask again why things in life doesn't follow what they planned or wanted.
PS: Alright... I am a bit greedy... writing 2 posts in one night because I know I have not been diligently updating my own blog.. haha... But I keep falling sick these 2 months.. My life was like a "upset stomach" - churning and churning. And oh yes.. life can only move forward.

Love
This is a portion of a Buddhist book I have read and it's called: "Three Teachings" by Venerable Tenzin Palmo. It will probably cleared up non-Buddhists' perception of the Buddha's teaching on "Love"... Interesting.. Let's enjoy...
"When the dharma talks abt non-attachment and detachment, it doesn't mean a lack of love. Sometimes people don't understand how Buddhism can talk abt compassion and love in one breath and non-attachment and all these qualities of renunciation in the other breath. But that's because we confuse love with clinging. We think if we love somebody, the measure of our loving is that we want to hold on to them. But that's not love, that's just self-love, attachment. It's not genuinely loving the other person, wanting them to be well and happy - that's wantingthem to make us well and happy. This is very important, because we confuse it all the time.
To hold people and possessions like this (hands outstretched to indicate holding something lightly in the palms) and not like this (fists clenched to indicate holding something very tightly). So that when we have them, we appreciate and rejoice in them, but if they go then we can let them go. Change and impermanence is the nature of everything.
You see, when we lose something we love, it's our attachment which is the problem, not the loss. That's what causes us grief. And that is why the Buddha taught that wth attachment comes fear and grief. We have the fear of losing, and then we have the grief when we lose. Buddha never said that love causes grief.
Love is the opening of the heart. It's like the sun shining. The sun just naturally shines. It doesn't discriminate, shining on this person but not on that one. It just shines, because it's the nature of the sun to give warmth. Some people go inside and close the doors and windows; that's their problem. The sun is shining anyway. And it's that quality of heart which we have to develop. That quality of open, unconditional loving, no matter what. I'm going to love you if you do this but I'm not going to love you anymore if you do that... parents do that, when their children don't obey."
